This is the number one question for all video productions. How much will it cost?
Every project has different requirements. A smart and agile video production company will always work to your budget, even for high end productions.
At Deia we try and offer packages to suit companies at different stages, from Start-ups to growth company’s and enterprise level organisations. one price guide we found to be
pretty accurate:
Start-Up: £4,500 - £8,000
Small, but professional, agile video projections with a core crew, typically across a single shoot in one location. Whether the Video production is in London or abroad, the cost will vary. These could be corporate video productions, Explainer videos or events videos.
Growth: £10,000 - £50,000
A professional, high level video production with larger crews, multicamera and or more than one location. A video production portfolio with the potential to meet campaign needs at scale for your brand.
Enterprise: £100,000+
High-end video production. Cutting edge, Hollywood level production value and talent to match. This typically involves brand or product launches or large scale brand campaigns at scale for high growth, high turnover companies.
Remember that value is better than cost savings. What one company will do for you by doing it slightly cheaper won’t necessarily help your business goals. Speak to Deia’s production consultants and we can work out a plan that fits your anticipated budget spend.
This also varies, depending on the content, volume, locations and output for a campaign. Social media and promotional video content can usually be turned around within 2 weeks.
Higher end video productions and longer form content takes longer to complete. Some projects required grading and complex animation, sound design and effects work. Deia will always outline the stage of the production and milestones of work that need to be completed and we always keep to the agreed deadlines.
Video production shoot length varies depending on the video production requirements.
We will always work with you to ensure that we have mutually convenient shooting dates scheduled for a chosen filming location.
At Deia we use four stages in our process of video production.
Development:This involves planning, research, problem-solving, and organisation necessary to set your video in motion for success. We discuss initial ideas and develop a project scope. At this stage of the process, we work with you so you can define exactly what you want to achieve from your video production campaign.
Pre-production:
Brief, synopsis and script writing, to mood board, storyboards and location scouting.
Production:The day of the shoot. This is where all the hard work in preparation pays off during the days of the production shoot. A well planned shoot will mean that a production company should not need to engage in re-shoots or changing budget parameters.
Post-production:This involves editing, sound and colour correction, grading, and post-production animation or effects work. This is all done in a style you’ve agreed to at the planning stage. You will also have a chance to make edi
We offer three revisions once we finalise a production, so you’ll have opportunities indicate anything you want changing via our online post-production workflow tools so you are happy with the final version of your video production.
This will all be agreed at the very beginning of the project.
Depending upon the video production size, the number of crew members will vary.
Small video productions intended for promotional projects can be shot with 2-3 crew members. A larger production would have more than 25 crew.
Different companies and locations have different restrictions on the number of crew that are allowed.
We are happy to discuss your requirements and work around your schedule and needs.
There are no hidden costs.
There should be no “hidden costs” that arise throughout your project that you are unaware of. There may be occasions where charges can be added for extra features or changes to your project but they would have to be agreed with yourself first. Music licensing or bespoke music composition on productions are always agreed on a project basis.
Additionally, if you require subtitles or multilingual translation or sound design, these would always need to be agreed as part of the overall project scope in advance, therefore the final cost will never be higher than originally agreed.
You can be involved from script to screen or at sign off for each stage. It’s up to you how much you want to be involved. We usually meet with your team at each stage so that Marketing and Business owners and partner companies are all aligned.
We are happy to provide you with our own script writer. We can taylor script information you provide us with or draft scripts from scratch. Our script or screenplay will be a perfect visual translation of your vision.
Not if you don’t want to be. Authenticity is always the best policy, but some videos only required visuals and or voiceover. We have access to a wide range of talent and speakers so rest assured we can provide a solution to all types of video production.
A good production company will never pretend that a video is guaranteed to go viral.
What makes a campaign successful is not necessarily the result of one or 10 videos going viral. There are many factors that make a video production campaign successful, from the right positioning strategy, segmentation and targeting of the right audience with the right portfolio, with the right message on the right platforms, using an effective digital paid and organic content strategy.
We can work to a deposit at the start of a project and the remainder of the amount when the project is complete, or for larger projects we can deal with stage payments at different project milestones.
